Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez will make an institutional statement this Monday at 9:00 a.m. to announce new measures against the "genocide" in Gaza, according to a statement from the Secretariat of State for Communication.

The president warned in an interview with The Guardian four days ago that the double standards demonstrated by the wars in Gaza and Ukraine threatened to undermine the global prestige of Western nations.

Government sources informed Efe this weekend that the coalition partners, the PSOE (Spanish Socialist Workers' Party) and Sumar (Sumar), were negotiating a series of measures against Israel with the intention of approving them at Tuesday's Council of Ministers meeting.

A negotiation after Sumar last Thursday proposed to the PSOE a series of initiatives against that country to try to stop the "genocide" in Gaza, including declaring Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu persona non grata and immediately approving the arms embargo law.

Yolanda Díaz, the second vice president and leader of Sumar in the coalition government, explained this Saturday that they were working with the PSOE (Spanish Socialist Workers' Party) to advance this package of measures against Israel.

Sánchez will outline the details of these measures during his appearance at Moncloa.
